My Studio
Garden studio to Wimbledon and back again.
I moved my art practice to Wimbledon studio 253 in December 2019. Before that I was working from home in a Garden Cabin that we built in 2011. Moving to Wimbledon was an important move for me in terms of connecting with a vibrant community of Artists and Makers. Having a space away from home has helped me focus on my Art practice which is well established now, so moving back when lockdown began was better than I thought. I know some have struggled with the stay at home scenario but Artists are used to spending time alone and planning their time, so once I had moved back all the materials I needed and adjusted to being at home again I was able to be productive ; continuing to create a series of works on paper and my first book of poems called Moems in Mind. My writing has been a response to my experience of lockdown and the anxiety around Covid-19 and has resonated with a lot of my peers so Iām getting having it printed. You can purchase a copy in my shop. I made a film about my garden studio too and hope it encourages others to engage with creativity in whichever form is helpful.
